I purchased this in size 3 for my (would be) almost 2 year old. And for longer car rides where he'd eventually remove his poncho, I'd say he might still feel too warm in whatever clothing he has on underneath his straps. But I'd have to dress him warmer than I would if he were using a snow suit. I guess it would do for the short walk from the house to the car (hoping we dont have to park the car too far during snow clearing days) as long as I dress my LO in warm enough clothing underneath. But I get the feeling that this isn't nearly thick enough for the -25+C° weather. Just received this, and even though it's almost summer and 26C° outside, I am sitting in our cool basement with this poncho over my shoulders to try to get a feel of how warm it'll be and I'm nice and cozy. *Colour of inner fleece may vary from photos* View more

Resnap or leave open but attached at the neck to allow child easier use of hands, and you’re ready to go!.Buckle your child into the harness and tighten it as usual. Unsnap the poncho to expose the harness.(This will ensure you have access to the harness system). As you place your child into the car seat, lift the back of the poncho so it’s not behind him.Simply slip it onto your child before leaving the house.Designed to keep your child both toasty AND secure, the car seat poncho is a must-have addition to any Canadian child’s wardrobe! It also has snapped "sleeves" for when in use outside the carseat. Thick layers of the snowsuit can be compressed from the force of a crash resulting in slack of the harness that can cause them to be ejected from the car seat.Ī carseat poncho is a PERFECT solution for this problem!!! The poncho includes a hood and a convenient snap closure front. Transport Canada has warned parents that using bulky snowsuits in a car seat can pose a serious safety hazard for a child in the event of a crash.
